The General Assembly is the ultimate decision-making body - formulating the general principles of policy and activity for the Association.

The General Assembly meets at least one a year, although additional meetings may be called at the discretion of the Management Board.

The day-to-day business of the Association is carried out by its President and the Director General under the direction of the Management Board.

The Management Board is answerable to the General Assembly, by whom it is directly elected, and is responsible for the direction and administration of the Association.

Membership of the Management Board mirrors the variety of traditions found within the membership and comprises the President and six Vice-Presidents.

The administration of the Association is done by the Director General, who is appointed by the Management Board and confirmed by the General Assembly.

In addition, Working Parties are formed, where appropriate, to consider particular matters of interest and report back to the Management Board.

Issues investigated by Working Parties include:

  • Data Protection issues
  • Big Data
  • FinTech
  • Retail financial services
  • SMEs access to finance
  • Cross-border exchange of credit reference data
