NEW ASSOCIATE MEMBER: ACCIS Welcomes its New Associate Member, the Caribbean Credit Bureau

About the Caribbean Credit Bureau (CCB)
The Caribbean Credit Bureau ("CCB") is a consumer credit bureau operating in the Dutch Caribbean since 2003.  CCB offers positive and negative credit information services to credit institutions (banks) and merchants who extent credit to consumers.
CCB works closely with the local bankers associations and other prominent local institutions. CCB's objective is to provide members with access to reliable and carefully protected consumer information.
CCB and its members are subject to the local privacy laws, which are similar to the Dutch Privacy laws.  Due to the fact that the Dutch Caribbean is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the high court of the Dutch Caribbean is in The Hague, there is a strong connection to the guidelines and developments in the EU relating to consumer credit information and privacy principles. Therefore the Caribbean Credit Bureau has a special interest in the associate membership of ACCIS.
CCB offers its services to the islands of CuraƧao and Bonaire and is currently in discussions with several other jurisdictions within the Dutch Caribbean that have shown an interest in the services of CCB. The Caribbean Credit Bureau is currently looking into the legal and operational possibilities to exchange data on the basis of reciprocity with other countries that are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
